Nathan had his first MRI since he began the vaccine today. It was a long day with a lot of complications, but the scan showed the tumor to be stable which is always good news. The doctor said the first 6 week scan is usually stable with low grade gliomas, but at least we know there are no major adverse reactions at this time.
Nathan was a real trooper today. Things did not go as smoothly as usual because they could not use his port today. They had to place an IV in his arm which did not make him happy. It was a long hard day, but as usual Nathan always does a great job. He just wants to play with the kitchen at the oncology clinic. He gets to play there while we are waiting and it makes him SOOO happy. They just got a new kitchen and play room on the radiology floor, so Nathan was happy as can be as we waiting for two hours to get his MRI. Nothing like seeing a two year old boy in a hospital gown playing with his kitchen!
He was not able to receive the vaccine today, so we will go back on the 20th for the 3rd vaccine.
Nathan was diagnosed with a JPA brain tumor when he was 8 months old. This blog is a journal of his story. Since he is not old enough to understand his illness, he will one day read this blog and learn how hard he fights every day to win this battle. Thank you for your words of love, support, and encouragement. Our family is forever grateful.
Make-A-Wish
Nathan was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish in November of 2015. He wished to have a truck stop in his back yard. Our friends at Make-A-Wish made his dreams come true. They built a play structure in the backyard for him to play with his trucks and enjoy being a kid.
